Since coming to Butler University in 1878, the Beta Zeta Delts have lived in four different houses. Our current Shelter was built back in 1958 and is located at 4340 Haughey Ave in Indianapolis, IN. Since being built, the Shelter has seen a few renovations since 1958 with the addition of the front porch, the overhang, and the 4 columns. In the summer of 2000 the house was remodeled on the inside. This included converting the 3rd floor from a single open room to 5 doubles and 1 triple and installing central air conditioning on the 3rd floor. The third floor is the only floor with a central air conditioning unit, however the 1st and 2nd floors have windows designed to hold a window air conditioning unit in order to stay cool when the temperatures rise.

Description of Single:
There are four singles on the 1st floor and 15 singles on the 2nd floor. Two of the singles on the second floor are a little bigger than the others because these two rooms are designated for the president and vice president of the chapter. Each single has a lofted bed with a desk underneath and a reasonably sized closet. Also, each bed comes with a mattress so you don't have to bring one from home. As you can see there is plenty of space in most of the singles to put a couch or a futon, a TV, and a refrigerator.

Description of Double:
The 3rd floor is the only place you will find doubles. The doubles come with two desks, two dressers, and two closets. Bunk beds are provided for all the doubles but many of the brothers will build there own lofts or sleeping quarters. The doubles on the 3rd floor can be arranged pretty much any way you want.

Recent Improvements
As a Delt you are taught to respect the Shelter and treat it as your own house. We take a lot of pride in our Shelter by keeping it clean and we are always looking for ways to improve it. Recently, we had a brick walkway installed around a flagpole, accompanied by new landscaping. These can be seen in the picture above.

Inside the Shelter, we have gone to great lengths to improve living conditions. In the summer of 2004 we bought brand new leather furniture for our formal and are in the process of getting new lights and tables in the formal to accompany the new couches.

In the basement, our pool table was in great need of some help and during Winter Break 2004 we got the table refelted in royal purple. Also, during the Winter Break we had the ceiling in the basement completely renovated.

We have gotten a new kitchen - additions include three new refrigerators, two ovens, and an ice machine, as well as general repairs. Renovations made in 2007 include new carpet, furniture, and tiles in the basement - also renovated are both bathrooms on the first and second floors
